My name is Oleksiy Tryfonov, and I am proud to be an ambassador for the magazine «Ukranians and the World» in the Netherlands. This role allows me to gather and highlight the stories of Ukrainians living in this country, so the world can learn about our culture, resilience, and remarkable achievements. The magazine serves as a platform for Ukrainians living abroad to share their experiences and create solidarity within the Ukrainian community.
The relationship between Ukrainians and the Dutch has deep roots, stemming from historical ties formed through trade and cultural exchanges. The year 2022 became a significant test when Russian aggression caused immense suffering among Ukrainians. However, the Dutch showed unwavering support for our country, standing up for humanity and justice.
Since the beginning of the war until May 2025, the Netherlands has become a second home for many Ukrainians seeking safety and new opportunities. Moreover, Ukrainian culture, traditions, and values have positively influenced the relationship between our two countries. We share common views on the importance of peace, tolerance, and cooperation.
As the head of the intergovernmental committee Rotary ICC Ukraine – Netherlands, I focus on strengthening friendly relations between our countries. Together, we can overcome difficulties and create a future filled with hope and mutual understanding.
